Description: Rather rare original 1892 Victorian poetry book by Arthur E. Smith, "Rural Legends and Lyrics." The book is overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. It is an ex-institutional library copy with a withdrawn Bowdoin College bookplate adhered to the front pastedown, a blind stamp to the title page and a few other additional pages, and possibly a couple of other pages with some other minor library markings. It is illustrated with a frontispiece portrait and an additional black and white plate. The covers have some light wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is lightly toned from age but is mostly clean with just the very occasional page with a light bit of foxing, soiling, or grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, minor interior crack, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The book measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 5 1/8 inches and is 128 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
