Description: Lovely dated “1878” perforated paper punch sampler religious motto / divine house blessing in German. Translation “Where there is faith there is love, where there is love there is peace, where there is peace there is blessing, where there is blessing there is God, where there is God there is no adversity (no need?)”. Expertly hand stitched needlework of text and floral in red tones. Visible sampler under old glass is 9.5” x 13.5” and overall frame size is 12.75” x 16.75” x 1.5”. Please see all pics as party of the description. The perforated paper has some age related darkening and moisture spots as shown in pics; no apparent paper fractures. There is no obvious thread loss. The antique frame is sturdy, in average antique condition with scratches, crazing, paint nicks, and age spots on the gold - but still a lovely display! There are some joint small gaps as shown in pictures. Wavy glass and hanging hardware are present. Back is old wood held in place with nails.
