Ansonia typically imported the ceramic cases from German manufacturers such as Royal Bonn, which is more correctly called the Franz Anton Mehlem Earthenware Factory. It was located in Bonn from 1836 to 1920, and the firm generally marked their products with a backstamp that included the words "Royal Bonn." The detailed photos provided really don't convey just how beautifully exquisite this particular case is .. & much nicer in person. It instantly reminds one of a Louis XVI era clock .. elegant, ornate, a classic French timepiece straight from Versaille .. pure magnificent profusely delicate aesthetic beauty & form. REVISED LISTING: We finally discovered it's stamped, original 1882 Ansonia N.Y. Patented stamped timepiece, very well wrapped & free from dust, elements in a dry stored environment, inside a closed box. We find both front wind mechanisms tight; fully wound. We then checked the timepiece 's hands by carefully advancing the minute hand to both hour & 1/2 hour numers, 11:00 & 11:30, respectively. We immediately heard the clock's chime ring w/the appropriate strikes per dial numbers, respectively 11 & 1, while observing top timepiece components movements rapidly spinning. The clock's original pendulum & key were also w/the timepiece, as shown. We now have a completed clock of impecible, pristine beauty. We cannot guarantee a perfect running order as we are not clock experts & unable to fully test. We recommend the timepiece be professionally serviced & securely installed within it's porcelain case, ready to display & admire, proudly. Note: the back cover plate was not present; a replacement can be found & easily added.
