Description: An Ornate Late 19th C Gilt Bronze Bevelled Glass French Jewellery Casket Box A beautiful bevelled glass, late Victorian, French trinket casket with ornate detail. Standing on 4 detailed feet and having a hinge lid. Featuring a transfer print that has been delicately enhanced with gold paint. The picture is of the 'Monastre Notre Dame de Laghet' a monastery, a few miles inland from Monaco in the South of France. Still a spiritual retreat today. The interior has its original blue silk cushion, which has become much faded and dilapidated over time. Condition In overall good antique condition commensurate with age and use. There is some slight wear to the picture, the interior cushion is very worn. There is some discolouration to the edging appropriate again to its age. The lid sits slightly unaligned and the feet have slight loss of balance again typical with age.
