Description: This is a very rare armillary sphere inkstand,probably made at the Tula,Imperial Arms factory, in the 1780s.lt is 15cm high(5.9 inches),made of bronze,possibly formerly silverplated and a similiar is exhibited at the Hermitage museum.lt bears a cabochon lapis lazuli on top which may be a later addition.The top compartment opens to reveal the (unfortunately missing) inwell.Those items were made to be offered to visiting diplomats and members of the aristocracy.A beautiful highly collectible piece,really decorative and a good investment.Thank you for reading,if any questions,dont hesitate to ask,please check my other items.
