American Flyer 21115 Pennsylvania PRR K5 4-6-2 Locomotive w/Tender - Rare

Description: Offering this one as purchased from the original owner in the early 70's. A pretty rare and HTF American Flyer 21115 Pennsylvania 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive with PRR metal tender (1958 only). It has either been in storage or static display (smoke-free) since purchase, as I never used it on my small AF layout. It is just time to pass this one along as I am thinning out my AF collection. Recently tested. The engine operates as designed both forward and reverse (a little bit sluggish and stiff but warmed up nicely) ... running with solid e-unit... lights and working smoke unit w/red glow smokestack and choo-choo sound. Cosmetically, both the engine and tender would grade a C7 or better, in spite of the miniscule rust on the engine drawbar (see photo). Both the engine/tender are clean with nothing missing that I can find, original paint and clean lettering with only light handling and usage showing (see photos). The four green jewels on the front of the engine and the two red jewels on the rear of the tender were added by the original owner, when purchased, or so I was told. If you're a purist you may want to try and remove them, or just pass on this one... I personally like them, particularly when on display. Overall, it's a well-preserved representation of a HTF and rare Pacific American Flyer Locomotive from an era when quality was well represented. Just look at the numerous photos and you be the judge of value. Rather low opening bid when compared to similar listings and sales.
