Description: My mother recently passed. She had some amazing antiques. This was always one of my favorites. It's with a heavy heart I have decided it would be better off with someone who can properly take care of, display, or even use. This has been in my family for generations. I am not sure where it originally came from. The carvings are nothing less than incredible. For the age the condition is spectacular. My family always took amazing care of it. There is a crack across the top but is not structural. It is possible the bottom has been replaced. Also possible the bottom was lined with velvet as is the lid. Each side depicts different events in Jesus life. Not sure if this counts as Stations Of The Cross. This was Appraised by a very well known auction house 14 years ago for 8000.00. I am currently searching for the appraisel but there are hundreds and hundreds of files to go thru. I can include it providing I can locate it. I love this piece but do understand it should have a new home. Measurements including the feet are 16 by 11. The inside measurements are 12 by 7 by 4 tall
