Description: These solidly made HiFi speakers from the late 70s are badged as ACCULAB 440, but were actually a rebranding of the “Series III” speakers from the American manufacturer RtR industries. (RtR still exists in one form or another, having been taken over by B.I.C. America.) Branded RtR or branded Acculab these are really solidly built things, medium size enclosures covered in vinyl woodgrain, and with bevelled grille cloth inserts that are removable. Each enclosure has a footprint of 365mm x 280mm, and stands 650mm high. They are configured as a 4 way system, an infinite baffle enclosure presenting 8Ω impedance and featuring:· 12 inch acoustic suspension woofer· 4 inch sealed back midrange (crossed over at 3.3kHz)· 3 inch tweeter (crossed over at 7.5kHz)· Motorola piezo super tweeter (crossed over at 10kHz)The speakers are rated at 50 watts, and are suitable for running on any amplifier from 5 watts to 75 watts a channel or so. They’re in excellent cosmetic condition, and perform faultlessly following a full service. You’ll love listening to classic music on classic speakers of the era!
