However, static electricity can set them off. When they fire they burn very hot. You do not want to be holding one when it fires. Plastic and plastic can create static electricity, so I suggest you NEVER carry these in a plastic grocery bag anywhere near a plastic surface – I can attest to the folly of this action – I have a lot of witnesses.
