Description: WELCOME EVERYONE TO KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES, ONE OF EBAY'S PREMIER BUYERS AND SELLERS OF RARE AND COLLECTABLE RADIO SHOWS OF ALL GENRES ALONG WITH OTHER GREAT AMERICANA. AND PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN YOU BUY FIVE OR MORE ITEMS FROM MY STORE AT ONE TIME, EBAY WILL DISCOUNT YOUR INVOICE BY 20% AUTOMATICALLY AT CHECKOUT. SO HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION: WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW? WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Believe it or not, some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were printed just for syndicated stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a few hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it. A few hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. AND they are increasingly hard to find. They were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, then later on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them. My best contact for these shows is running very low and when he is gone I will be at the mercy of finding a good deal here and there but never from a regular source. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over ten thousand shows not yet listed, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club! I have one of the biggest collections in the world. They are all available to you for the asking. I only have time to list a fraction of my shows because I work full time and this is my hobby, but just know they are there! I give special discounts for bulk purchases of any show. You tell me what you want, I put up a Buy It Now Auction for you, and they quickly head your way!!! OK guys and gals, in this outing, A RARE TREAT!!!! I recently started listing my rarest unopened Dick Bartley American Gold shows, the definitive oldies series of all time. Getting and collecting shows from all eras of the show is great fun and you can literally trace its evolution over the years. Dick Bartley has been a personal favorite of mine dating back to his Solid Gold Scrapbook days and his ability to not just play mainstream oldies all the time. He knows the artists and knows the music and can tell you a remix from mono or a stereo to some other rare option for a song in a second and often includes them with their stories on his show. These Dick Bartley shows are super rare and need to be in your collection. AND, HERE'S ANOTHER EXTRA!!! They have never been opened before I opened them to list the contents for you. These shows all come with their cue sheets, of course I ship them to you in a special mailer to ensure they will be as fresh and good looking when they come to your home as they are now. I am proud to offer you an opportunity to have some of these rare shows for your own collection. You will especially love them if you are a fan of the 60's because the show always glorified the era of 60's music, the heart and soul of the early rock era. As the show continued into the 2000's, the demographics changed and the show started skewing away from the late 50's and 60's and early 70's to the entire decade of the 60's and into the greatest of the 70's. So whatever your taste, just check out the listing and see what you will get. You will be amazed. If you are a fan of the show or of the featured group or genre , also know that every one of Dick's shows was unique and different. So, for example, if you like the Beatles and get a show featuring them, and see another show listed in a tribute to the Beatles, it will be completely different. And remember, each show had upwards of 60 great different songs on it along with all the interviews, commentary, history, and entertainment features! Most of you remember know about Dick Bartley and his radio history. Dick has been on national radio since the early 80's, about 30 years of daily and weekly shows. That is a whole lot of radio. This guy knows it all and knows them all. The interviews you hear on his show are as great as the music and the information that he imparts about the songs and the groups is amazing. He started on RKO Radio Networks in the early 80's on the cusp of radio syndication and was there until RKO was dissolved. Then United Stations took on the RKO syndication business and Dick was one of the shows picked up by United Stations with them. He was there and very successful, enormously successful in fact, until 1988 when he left United Stations over a contract dispute and went to Westwood One. Then ABC picked him up and he remained there until March of 2010. In the meantime, United Stations merged with TransStar and became UniStar which lasted about a year before becoming again United Stations. Last spring Dick returned to his early home United Stations. SO, Dick has been on the air in syndication steadily since 1982. That is almost as long as Dick Clark and more than any other dj that you will hear in syndication. Sadly, United Stations is distributing Dick by digital download and CD's are no longer produced. YES there are NO MORE Dick Bartley American Gold shows to be had on CD. THESE ARE THE LAST. And YOU can have them. Imagine, the very last and they can be in your collection. It is Americana that few people can own both because of their rarity and because people just don't know about them. You will get the perfect show, FOUR HOURS ON FOUR BEAUTIFUL CD'S LOOKING LIKE THEY WERE JUST PRESSED in beautiful shape, WITH THEIR CUE SHEETS ALSO IN GREAT CONDITION . These are genuine collector's items that you will treasure and which will increase in value as all radio shows, especially the quality shows like Dick Bartley, completely disappear from the market place or become too expensive to afford. Since all shows are now not distributed to stations on CD, these too will soon vanish. As long as I have them, I will sell them for as reasonable a price as I can, even given the almost 20% of every purchase that Uncles EBay and Paypal keep for their very own. Again, the show comes on 4 CDs , four hours, and in pristine condition and with their cue sheets in excellent condition. This show is 01-23 and aired on JUNE 2, 2001. This show featured ONE SUPER TRIBUTE TO TOP 20 CLASS REUNION OF 1972 THROUGHOUT THE SHOW. These themes were always fun because it brings back to you the memories of your life from those special times in your life. Oldies are of the most popular themes in radio and Dick has a lock on it! In between each theme you will hear other great classics of the early rock era and special features , interviews, and music news from the early rock era. First, here are your top tunes, THE TOP 20 CLASS REUNION OF 1972 PRESENTED IN NUMERICAL ORDER ACCORDING TO BILLBOARD MAGAZINE! Too Late To Turn Back Now- Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress- The Hollies Papa Was A Rolling Stone- The Temptations Song Sung Blue- Neil Diamond Oh Girl- The Chi-Lites Black And White- Three Dog Night I'll Take You There- The Staple Singers Heart Of Gold- Neil Young I Am Woman- Helen Reddy Let's Stay Together- Al Green Brandy- The Looking Glass My Ding A Ling- Chuck Berry Lean On Me- Bill Withers Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me- Mac Davis Me And Mrs Jones- Billy Paul Horse With No Name- America Without You- Nilsson I Can See Clearly Now- Johnny Nash Alone Again Naturally- Gilbert O'Sullivan American Pie- Don McLean. Along with the themes of the show, you hear mixed with them top hits from the 50's, 60's and 70's, (MOSTLY 60'S and early 70's with a smattering of 50's) Check out the songs on this show in addition to the theme that you will hear! You will be impressed! If you have heard Dick's show, you know exactly what to expect! Somebody To Love- Jefferson Airplane Needles And Pins- The Searchers Lay Lady Lay- Bob Dylan Paint It Black- The Rolling Stones Surf City- Jan & Dean California Girls- The Beach Boys Baby I Need Your Lovin'- The Four Tops Mrs Robinson- Simon & Garfunkel Blue Moon- The Marcels Hooked On A Feeling- BJ Thomas I'll Take You There- The Staple Singers Expressway To Your Heart- The Soul Survivors A Lover's Concerto- The Toys Heart Of Gold- Neil Young Hey Baby- Bruce Channel To Sir With Love- Lulu Down On The Corner- CCR Come See About Me- The Supremes Along Comes Mary- The Association Bottle Of Wine- The Fireballs Ruby Baby- Dion Friday On My Mind- The Easybeats Save Your Heart For Me- Gary Lewis & The Playboys Light My Fire- Jose Feliciano Dawn- The Four Seasons Take Good Care Of My Baby- Bobby Vee Grazing In The Grass- The Friends Of Distinction The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore- The Walker Brothers Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie- Jay & The Techniques Do Wah Diddy Diddy- Manfred Mann He's A Rebel- The Crystals Only The Strong Survive- Jerry Butler Little Girl- The Syndicate Of Sound Sunshine Of Your Love- Cream You're The One- Vogues Devil In Disguise- Elvis Presley Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds- The Beatles Crystal Blue Persuasion- Tommy James & The Shondells Searchin' For My Love- Bobby Moore & The Rhythm Aces. Finally, as if this weren't enough, Dick always listed songs 'in the clear' at the end of the fourth hour. In fact it is common to find Dick Bartley shows missing this fourth hour because stations kept the fourth hour for their libraries because of the quality and rareness of the extra tracks presented. In the Clear means that there is no dj interaction before, during or after them. DICK ALWAYS TEASED AND SURPRISED HIS RADIO PROFESSIONAL FRIENDS WITH THE RARITY OF THESE ADDED TRACKS. STATIONS ADDED THESE UNIQUE CUTS TO THEIR STATION LIBRARIES, MANY TIMES NOT OTHERWISE KNOWING THAT THEY WERE EVEN AVAILABLE. They are just great songs, often alternative takes or rarely heard songs. Sometimes these extra songs were in a theme or just requests from program directors across the country looking for specific versions of oldies. Here are the "In the Clear" extras on this show: Searchin' For My Love- Bobby Moore & The Rhythm Aces Mirage- Tommy James & The Shondells Asia Minor- Kokomo Jenny Jenny- Little Richard. Please remember, this is the genuine original show that was sent to the radio station for airing. It is NOT an unauthorized copy but the Real McCoy!!! I personally guarantee that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. Stations could use the show anytime during the weekend date printed on the show and then the remaining ones ended up available to us all to enjoy. THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED BECAUSE SYNDICATORS WILL NEVER RELEASE HOW MANY WERE ORIGINALLY PRESSED! On the financial side, you are truly buying a show that will only increase in value and I am selling them at a price very close to what I paid for it. The show comes with its original national commercials including: Midwest Geico Insurance Econologe Hotel Scotts Mircale GNC AND MORE! And if you don't like the national commercials (none of those boring local commercials are in the show; there were various places on the CD show where they could be locally inserted and time left for them but you will not hear them, only the national commercials you will remember well), just skip to the next track and rejoin Dick and all the great music immediately. Many of my buyers get my shows for the neat old commercials they collect. Remember that this and all the radio music shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. As always, for U.S. buyers, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy so the more you buy the more money you will save. For my international friends, I will again only charge shipping on the first show you purchase and all others ship for free. Good Luck and God Bless You.
