Description: Vintage 1962 Tiny Chatty Baby Doll by Mattel w/ Atomic Carrying Case / Closet / Wardrobe Original Outfits including one-piece baby blue romper with Tiny Chatty Baby embroidered on bib and blue corduroy coat with white trim and matching hat plus several others including dresses and quilt Rooted Blonde short choppy baby haircut with big baby blue glassine sleep eyes and long eyelashes- left eye sticks at times and lashes slightly bent but they do function String intact to back but doll doesn't speak - does squeak a bit when string is pulled. There is a complex speaking mechanism located in the doll's torso. It is extremely rare to find one in perfect working order these days. There is a step-by-step doll repair book available called "Talk to Me" that could help buyer repair. Mattel presented the original Chatty Cathy doll at the 1960 New York Toy Fair. Tiny Chatty Baby is Chatty Cathy's little sister and was launched in 1962. The metallic Atomic Doll Carrying Case / Closet / Wardrobe is white with silver Starburst designs. Case has scuffs and some dents. Could use a good cleaning. The lock does keep the box closed. No key needed. Inside of box is wallpapered with silver stars on white background. Paper is peeling in places. Doll measures approximately: 14.25" x 7" x 5" Weighs 1 lb. 6.3 oz. Case measures 16.25" x 8" x 8" Weighs approximately 5 lbs, 13 0z. with doll inside.
