All Manzanita branches will be cut after order is placed. I will try to find nice full branches, from my land in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Because freshly harvested manzanita branches are quite flexible, they will be tied for easier shipping. Make sure to unpack your manzanita branches and cut the string soon after they arrive so they will regain their natural shape. Note, they will harden after a couple of months, and will be strong enough to hang or attach just about anything on the branches. These branches can be used for a variety of things, table decor in any room, you can use them to hang jewelry on, in arts/crafts where you can create flowers to glue on, center piece for wedding, terrariums and/or land portions of paludarium and more. Some information about Natural Manzanita: Shape, branch number on each piece, branch size, bark color, and condition will vary with each piece and each season, or time of season it is harvested. If you plan on using branches for table decor in vases, it would be good to wait on purchases the vases until after you receive the branches, as the "stem/main branch" might vary in thickness. If you have already purchased vases, I may be able to find ones that will fit. Or you can always cut away/sand down the part that will sit in the vase. During the spring and summer months some of the bark may have begun to peel. To remove peeling or loose bark, just use a soft brush and for harder to remove areas, a light wire brush may be needed. Manzanita is considered a softwood when fresh, but over time, and as it dries out, it will become very hard and will last indefinitely. Please keep in mind, some splits and cracks will happen as the wood dries, but not to the point that a branch will split in two, or fall apart. It will add character to your piece! If you would like a piece with more branches to work with, then order the larger size offered in the drop down menu. This is Natural pieces of wood, so I don't have any control over the way the branches grow, or how many branches will be on each piece. If you are purchasing for a terrariums and/or land portions of a paludarium, the red bark can be left intact with the wood to give off more of unique look. Birds, reptiles, and amphibians will use the branches to stand or climb to higher positions with in the enclosure.
