Description: Presented is a great set of 5 European silver forks. These forks date to around the late 1700s or early 1800s. We do not know the maker of the forks or the origin, but they are certainly continental European, possibly Belgian or Swiss. The forks are done in a very simple and classic style, with an upward turn at the end of the handles. The back of the handles have an old monogram of LM, above two star shaped marks. The forks are in great overall condition. There is some rounding to the tips of the tines, commensurate with age and use. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each of the forks is marked twice with a maker's mark of IDB. There may be other hallmarks that were overstruck by the star marks on the handles. The silver is 830-900 purity. Each fork is about 6 5/8 inches long The forks weigh 197.5 grams or 6.9 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
