Description: Maker: This set of 4 lovely cups and saucers is by the legendary English maker Copeland Spode. And it reflects that company's superb quality: the craftsmanship is of a very high standard. Design: The set shows a finely painted rust or red colored tall ship against a pale greyish blue background of fine stoneware. It's in the classic shape called Canton. The sailing ship is the Brig Cygnet of Salem, which was built in 1822. On the reverse of the cups are the ship's name, the pattern name Trade Winds and the number D17. Age: The Copeland Spode mark that was in use between 1960 and 1969 also appears. Trade Winds was produced between 1962 and 1993, so this set was produced between 1962 and 1969. Size: The saucers are 5 3/4 inches wide. The cups are 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. The set weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces. Condition: All 8 pieces are in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. The colors remain vibrant. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
