Description: This is a Cleveland 3/4" scale balsa wood flying model of a Japanese Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" fighter from World War II. This is kit SF-86 from the Cleveland Master series and has a wingspan of 29 and 3/4inches. The box has been opened, but the kit contains all parts, plans, and decals necessary to complete the model. Cleveland was truly the preeminent manufacturer in the heyday of balsa wood flying models, but this kit is definitely from the 1940's and is definitely old-school. You have to cut out the parts yourself, although the cowl and the wheels are preformed. In addition to the clear acetate sheet included as part of the kit, a complete clear preformed canopy is also included, which is a probably from a Guillows or Comet kit., There are two sets of decals: One set looks like the minimal, weight-saving glossy paper that are glued or clear-doped on the tissue; the second set is a traditional "slip & slide" with a higher quality. The better quality sheet is from a Guillows "Zero" kit. A three-bladed prop is not provided, but the plans have instructions on how to make one. Curiously, both this kit and its companion FW-190 kit contain "paddle-bladed" plastic parts for a two-bladed propeller.
