Description: HEY FELLOW FOLLOWERS OF GREAT MUSIC PRESENTED THE WAY YOU GREW UP YOU LIKE, IN THIS CASE THE GREATEST CLASSICS IN ROCK ALONG WITH GREAT COMMENTARY, UNIQUE INTERVIEWS, FASCINATING THEMES AND THE MOST CREATIVE SEGUES FROM SONG TO SONG THAT YOU WILL EVER HEAR ON ANY SHOW , YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! THESE ARE GREAT RADIO SHOWS FROM THOSE VINTAGE YEARS OF RADIO SHOWS WHEN DJ'S WERE ALLOWED TO BE DJ'S AND NOT JUST ROBOTS PLAYING 'MOST MUSIC', AND WHEN SHOWS HAD SPECIAL RARE INTERVIEWS AND OFTEN FASCINATING THEMES, AND NOT JUST THE SAME MUSIC EVERY HOUR, OVER AND OVER. YOU WILL LOVE NOT ONLY THIS SHOW BUT ALL THE SHOWS LISTED BY KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES.AND, THEY ARE RARE BUT HOW DO YOU DEFINE RARENESS?? LET ME TELL YOU!FIRST OF ALL THERE WERE NO MORE THAN 175 LP OR CD SETS OF EACH SHOW PRESSED. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY WERE SENT ONLY TO THE AFFILIATE RADIO STATION IN THE TOP 175 RADIO MARKETS IN THE COUNTRY AND ONLY ONE STATION IN EACH MARKET COULD AIR THE SHOW. STATIONS IN MARKETS BELOW THE TOP 175 (THERE ARE 306 MARKETS IN THE UNITED STATES) HAD TO PRESENT THE SHOW THROUGH THE SATELLITE FEED OF THE SHOW FROM THE SYNDICATOR OF THE SERIES)AND, DUE TO CONTRACTUAL LEGAL OBLIGATIONS, EACH RADIO STATION WAS ALLOWED TO AIR EACH SHOW EXACTLY ONCE AND NO MORE. SO, MOST RADIO STATIONS JUST THREW THEM AFTER AIRING SINCE THEY WERE USELESS TO THE STATION AFTER AIRING. THERE IS NO TELLING HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED. WHO KNOWS - THIS COULD BE THE ONLY ONE.WELCOME EVERYONE TO KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES, ONE OF EBAY'S PREMIERE BUYERS AND SELLERS OF PRISTINE RARE RADIO SHOWS OF ALL GENRES ALONG WITH OTHER GREAT VINTAGE AMERICANA. PLEASE NOTE FELLOW COLLECTOR FRIENDS THAT WHEN YOU BUY FIVE OR MORE ITEMS FROM MY STORE AT ONE TIME THAT EBAY WILL IMMEDIATELY DISCOUNT YOUR INVOICE BY 20% IT IS THE LEAST I CAN DO FOR MY FELLOW COLLECTORS WHO LOOK FOR GREAT DEALS AS MUCH AS I DO! AND IF YOU COMBINE THE ABOVE WITH SOME SELECTIONS FROM KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES WEEKLY HALF PRICE AND REDUCED PRICE SPECIALS, YOU WILL SAVE EVEN MORE....MUCH MORE!! JUST CLICK ON THE TAB ON KEITH'S HOME PAGE TO SEE ALL THE VARIED OFFERINGS TO WHICH MORE ARE ADDED ALMOST DAILY.KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES IS THE HOME FOR QUALITY RADIO SHOWS IN LP OR CD FROM MY COLLECTION OF OVER 15,000 RARE, DISTINCT SHOWS IN PERFECT CONDITION, MOST WITH CUE SHEETS LET ME FIRST DESCRIBE THIS CLASSIC SHOW FLASHBACK AND THEN IF YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS, PLEASE READ ON FOR MY BRIEF 'RADIO SHOWS 101' DESCRIPTION AND HOW I GOT INTO COLLECTING SOME 35 YEARS AGO.FLASHBACK was probably the best classic rock show ever to air anywhere. And, while the music can be found anywhere, this show presents music in such creative sets it will please and amaze. You will hear all the best in classic rock for THREE hours on each show, ARRANGED IN GREAT THEMES, AN HOUR TO EACH THEME. Host BILL ST. JAMES, was host from the beginning of the show in the late 80's when still on lp until early 2011. He is a great dj - legendary and unique in classic rock for decades - and presents a full three hour themed show, each hour its own especially programmed masterpiece. The show comes on 3 CD's (three hours) in perfect condition looking just like they were just pressed and played only once, the day they were aired. They come along with their cue sheets in excellent condition. The CD's are quite attractive with The FLASHBACK logo across the top in bright colors as seen in the listing picture. They were produced as a quality item even though they were pressed for this single playing on the broadcast date. These CD's were played only once, the day they aired. One of the most enjoyable and unpredictable features of this great show is that many times during each theme snippets of commercials, news items, interviews, movie soundtracks, tv soundtracks and other entertainment related to the theme is intermixed with the music in perfect relation to the theme. It makes each hour all that much more enjoyable and special and unique among all classic rock radio shows. Please note that this a THREE hour version of the Flashback show. The show traditionally came in two and four hour versions depending on what version the stations wanted. The two hour version contains the first and last hour of the week's four hour version. But, here is the mystery. What about three hour versions? Certainly they would have not been condoned officially by the ABC Radio Networks BUT as long as the affiliate station played all the mandated national commercials of the two hour or four hour show as required by the affiliate station's contract with ABC, all was legal. So, an affiliate could run three hours of the show and not the fourth. After all, most syndicated radio shows were on one, two or three hour lengths. There were relatively few four hour shows, only two come to mind off hand - Dick Clark's Rock Roll and Remember, Dick Bartley's American Gold, and of course, now, Flashback. But, what may also could have happened is that the affiliate station did run the four hour show but kept the fourth hour for its own station library because of the sound bites in that fourth hour which were priceless because those segments, like the entire show, were digitally remastered for greatest fidelity.Whatever, you get three full hours of Flashback, three full hours of a unique theme for each hour and, believe me, you cannot beat it.You get the legendary Bill St James, Classic Rock Classics, and all the amazing sound bites from news, movies, entertainment, comedians and our past history all the way back to Abbott & Costello, Groucho Marx, early Presidents, WC Fields, the Three Stooges and to the present with music collages, movie soundbites, comedians like Steve Martin and politicians from Richard Nixon to our present generation all intermixed with the best music of all time The cue sheets come with the three hour show just as with the two and four hour version. All versions are readily available in my ebay store. This show aired on March 26, 2007 and was show #1056Exact song listings can be seen in the pictured cue sheets. Even the national commercials are interesting and fun to hear after all these years. . You don't have to hear any of those boring local commercials and if you don't like the national commercials just hit the next track and off you go back to the music. But, you will be surprised how many memories even these old commercials bring back after 17 years. On this show you will hear Autozone, Bose Speakers, Rolaids, Ovaltine, and more. SO WHAT ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT RADIO SHOWS? LET ME TELL YOU BUT FIRST....Allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows. I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story. This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's. I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie". Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all. He was a real pioneer. Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone that they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered. Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two. Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie". I have listed over 11,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over, and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford! I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and especially in these days of higher prices and lesser availability.Radio shows are harder and harder to find in quantity and the prices for the ones still out there just go higher and higher as they disappear from the market. However, because of my large presence on eBay, I am often contacted with selling offers, some of which I take advantage of and some I have to pass on because of the prices. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles. And, even though I price all my shows so that I make very little on each sale, most of which I use to buy more shows to make available to you, if you find the price too high, let me know and we can likely work out something you can afford. I want everyone to be able to have what they want for their collection. So, again, what is a radio show? Radio Shows are syndicated productions provided to radio stations usually on what is called a 'barter arrangement'. There were several large and small distributors who supplied broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break, although in recent years, through bigger companies absorbing smaller ones and many going out of business because the competition was just too fierce, there are only a few big syndicators left. This is sad because it has led to more homogenization of different formats and selection available for stations and often less creativity in the shows. Most aired on Saturday or Sundays. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials and as I said, even these old vintage commercials now bring back memories. Radio shows were first distributed on reel to reel tape or on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand of shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! So, I hope you will join me in this and many more wondrous voyages on the 'SS Keith's Kollectables' as we take exciting journeys together exploring the treasures of radio shows we grew up with and thought were long lost.May the lost be found!! WELCOME FELLOW EBAY COLLECTORS TO KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES, EBAY'S PREMIERE SELLER OF VINTAGE RADIO SHOWS OF EVERY GENRE AND UNIQUE COLLECTABLES GREETINGS FELLOW COLLECTORS OF GREAT MUSIC AND RARE CLASSIC RADIO SHOWS! SO WHAT ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT RADIO SHOWS? LET ME TELL YOU BUT FIRST....Allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles. SO HERE ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS: FIRST, WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW? WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday mornings, afternoons or evenings or less frequently during late night segments. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj comments which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were pressed just for affiliate stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as few as a couple hundred of each week's show pressed but think about it. A couple hundred for some 235 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. This show itself was only ever sent to the top 175 Metro markets. Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed once it became available. So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show EVER. How do you compute rareness. 175 copies for the whole United States market and 25 years ago or more means that could possibly not be ANY more of these shows and at the very most there are 175 . How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess. This is because most stations just threw these away after network broadcast since they could not be aired again because of the dated commercial content and most stations had limited storage space. (Believe me I know; I was a dj for many years at one such station!) So it is likely that very few still exist and they are increasingly hard to find. They were first distributed on reel to reel tape or later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of music radio. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most, like this special show, much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club! Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary and many in depth interviews. Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio history. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth over the years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I can tell you, having accumulated the bulk of my collection up to 30 years ago that if I was starting out today, I never could have built my collection prices have gotten so high I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will for most of these shows than you will. As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for US buyers and for my international friends, so the more you buy the more money you will save. Good Luck and God Bless You.
