You are purchasing 25 solid aluminum, ROUND headed rivets, the post on these rivets are 1/4th of an inch across (diameter) and 3/8 of an inch long beneath the head. These rivets have a ton of applications and I use them for making and repairing medieval reproduction armor, shields, and pole arms. They are suitable for use in all types of metals and leather. If you need to purchase a burr or a washer for these rivets you may use a standard 1/4 inch washer (available at most hardware stores) I don't sell washers. There is more than one way to set a rivet but this is how I do it: In the riveting process, the rivet's shank is piened over into a mushroom, drawing the rivet head inward and creating tension between the two materials being joined. To pien any kind of rivet, use a ball-ended hammer and strike the rivet on an angle, working completely around the rivet. As the hammer strikes, it will creat a mushroom that pulls the rivet through the plates. when the mushroom is mostly set the hammer is turned and the rivet's dome is finished. If attaching a leather strap or other material to the back of a plate you may put a washer over the post of the rivet before mushrooming it to give a larger surface area so the rivet does not "pull through" the leather.
