Soapstone types vary and can include Alberene, Old Dominion, American, and Churchill (all Virginia soapstone). Box can include pieces that weigh less than a pound to pieces that weigh up to seven pounds. Total of 25+ pounds shipped in usps flat rate box. All boxes will weigh slightly over 25 pounds, on average at least about a pound over. Any requests, such as if you would like more pieces in smaller sizes or fewer pieces in larger sizes, are always welcome and will be accommodated whenever possible. Great for studio and classroom uses. Larger bulk quantities are available by request. Individual pieces of extra large soapstone for large sculptural projects or installation work are also available in limited quantity. Soapstone steatite may also contain other minerals such as quartz, pyrite, magnetite, and serpentine variations.
