Description: Hello, Work sculpted by well known/respected U.S. Mint & Danbury Mint Sculptor Marcel Jovine (His mark is on the obverse - see the 10th photo). 24 Kt Gold Plate over Bronze 3" Carousel Medallion with 1988 Calendar on reverse - Diamond Chip on April 30th Edge reads: 1987 Medallic Art Co. Danbury, CT Bronze 24 K Gold Plated Obverse design: 6 different carousel animals with poles (2x Horse, Zebra, Caribou, Griffin, Lion) - Center has Latin words on ribbons. Edge has elaborate decor. Marcel Jovine's mark seen under Horse with head held upwards. Reverse design: 1988 calendar with diamond chip on April 30th. This may have occurred post minting(?)....IDK. Above center is a cherub with wings. Griffin head/tail laterally along the calendar. This is a magnificent and beautiful design by Mint Sculptor Marcel Jovine. It's a MACO Medallion made in 1987 and plated in 24K gold. Diamond chip on April 30th. Please review the images. Thank you.
