Description: 2023 SARRACENIA SEEDS: (FLAVA X ALATA) X CATESBAEI RED [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 77: 23HH09 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. (flava x alata) Father (pollen) plant: S. catesbaei Red The mother plant in this cross has some awesome contrast between the tube/hood VS the lip VS the inner mouth. It’s a very colorful plant showing all warm colors: orange, yellow, and red. It also has a great shape in the lip. The father plant is one of my favorite Sarrs. It is a large Catesbaei that has strong flava var. rubricorpora color influence. Sharp red with contrasting yellow. It has a great Catesbaei shape and easily gets 18in tall. It constantly makes pitchers throughout the year. I have had this plant for around 10 years and it is extremely reliable and hardy. Expect some flava-dominant offspring with some amazing contrast and great vigor. Given these two parents, most of the offspring will likely produce pitchers year-round. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2023 and the seeds were harvested in Fall of 2023. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying in the Fall, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. I have been growing Sarracenia for 15 years and my goal is to make quality seeds and plants affordable to anyone that is interested in growing these amazing plants.
