Description: 2018 Employee Custom Buck 119 Gold Cerakote Oak? Brass & Black Micarta 1 of 30 This is the last knife from a batch of custom Bucks I bought from the estate of a former Buck employee about a year ago. I saved the best for last. It was the hardest to value because there are ZERO other ones to compare it to. When I first got the lot of knives I was able to find one that was similar in it's rarity but total different in it's composition. It sold for over $450. I can no longer find that listing so I will paraphrase as best I can. Knives like these are what are known as "cell knives." They are custom specials created by and for a particular crew at Buck which apparently consist of either 30 or 13 employees working together. Again I can't remember exactly what the listing said, there could be 12 others or 29 others. Anyways, periodically they are allowed to make a set of knives for the whole crew that are all identical. Hence the name "cell knife." This one has a Chinese symbol on the side that says "dog." That is the backstory and research to the best of my ability and recollection. Now to the knife itself. It is a 2018 Custom Buck 119 made in the USA. I believe the handles are Oak. Perhaps Cocobolo. It has black micarta spacers and brass guard/pommel. It has a gold cerakote/buckote finish on the blade. This is an unused Custom Shop Knife. Was stored in it's sheath loose with other knives. Scales and pommel could stand to be buffed. There is either a run in the finish or a small knick if the grooves of the handle. See pics.
