Description: This is a nice fossil crab Potamon fossil from Turkey. This specimen has been preserved as a natural outer cast in its own “travertine cave”. This crustacean has amazing detail and claw and carapace preservation. Travertine is a limestone that forms near mineral springs. These crabs were found when big blocks of travertine stone are cut and used as building materials. These fossils are estimated to be 300,000-400,000 years old and are from the Pleistocene. Width of crab across legs: approximately 2 inches (5 cm) Width of stone: approximately 6 inches at longest point Note: colors of photos are NOT edited, but I take pictures either outside in natural sunlight or in a light box, so colors may seem brighter or different from actuality Note: The fossils are packed with extreme care, but if the fossil does break in transit somehow, I can only give any form of compensation if there is video proof of the full unboxing provided that shows the fossil was damaged right out of the box. Thank you. Package weight and size are subject to change
