There is no writing, no loose, torn or missing pages and overall the binding is firm with a lean to the spine. This is an incredibly scarce work on the Skeat dictionary and word origins, being also a form of literary criticism. SKEAT CONCISE ETYMOLOGICAL DICTIONARY: FAIR condition with 2 inch tear at top of front board at the gutter, soiling and edge wear. The book is from a Bible College library and has some stamps and call letters inside, but nothing like a public library. No pockets and the spine is unstamped. The first page of the letter "A" has several words cut out for whatever reason, but I can find no other internal damage. The binding is firm. It's a reading copy more than a collectible edition.
