Description: This pattern was introduced by Charlie Craven (Charlie's Fly Box) and named after his son. The Fly is widely featured in fly tying videos on you tube. I don't tie or fish many dry flies. I require 2 things: 1. they must be simple to tie and durable. 2. They must present a good profile to the fish. This fly certainly satisfies both requirements. I took two pictures that give you an idea of what the fish sees. The fly projects a great profile and depending on the color can simulate any number of insects that accidently fall into the water. I tie the fly in Sizes #6 and #10 and colors black and brown. The black is cricket oriented and the brown grasshopper oriented. The #10 is for smaller pan fish and the #6 is for larger fish, specifically bass. Charlie Craven designed this for trout, but I don't fish for trout so you're on your own. You get 2 black, #6 Charlie Boy Hoppers. They are tied with black foam, black rubber legs, a deer hair wing and a pink indicator.
