Description: Here is a beautiful collectible copy of Sophie’s Choice by William Stryon. This is a first edition first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Random House in 1979. This title won the National Book Award for fiction in 1980. It also was made into the film starring Meryl Streep. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The maroon cloth boards are very clean but for one small area in the upper left of the front board. The gold, silver, and copper gilt lettering and decor on the front board and spine is bright and beautiful as shown. There is a previous book seller’s pencil notations on the second free endpaper which incorrectly states this title s winning the Pulitzer Prize for fiction when in fact it was the NBA. There is very light soiling to the upper page block and a slight “bump” to the top spine end. All four corners are in excellent condition as shown in the images posted. The dust jacket has been price clipped. There is some light fading to the spine as is common with this title and some light chipping to the spine top which is also included in the pics. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library. Please see all pics and ask any questions you may have and as always I never list ex library or book club editions so buy with confidence. And please check out my 100% positive seller feedback!!! Thanks for looking.
