Description: 19th century ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved out of antler of deer species “Cervus nippon” (also called sika or Japanese deer, conservation status “Least Concern”) as a clam shell with ridges. Good design, shunga connotation as almost inevitable with clam in Japanese art, nice patina on the surface, natural imperfections in staghorn, overall in very good condition. Length 3/4 inches.
