Description: RARE Tickle Me Elmo Original (1996) by TYCO "New" "MIB" Sesame Street! Back in the day..."Tickle Me Elmo" dolls were as hot as grilled cheese! During the toy craze hype right before Christmas 1996...people were routinely getting trampled and into fist fights at toy retailers across the nation in order to try and buy 1 of these toys for their children! (Think maybe that's where they got the idea to do the movie "Jingle All The Way" back then as well!) During "Elmo Mania"...1 actually sold in a charity radio auction for $18,500...yes, that's correct! Scalpers and hustlers were flipping them in the $1,000-$1,500 range. Will History repeat itself some day for these dolls...who knows, only time will tell! A great collectible momento at the very least for that bygone era. This Tickle Me Elmo is mint unremoved from its original box as shown. Hard to believe...but Elmo is still working today when I did the video with it's original batteries...WOW!! Since its 27 years old...you may need to replace batteries soon if you want to play with it. Alot of collectors prefer just to keep these unremoved from their original display boxes and show them off on their mantles or shelves.
