Most are standard sized cards (2.5" X 3.5"). They are typically made available to the public before the release date of the cards. Most often Promo Cards are exact samples of what the front of the cards will look like once officially released & usually they are specially numbered (P1, P2, #0, P, etc.) to tell them apart from a regular card. Usually the text on the back of a Promo card talks about the upcoming set. Sometimes it looks just like the back of standard card. Some promo cards are released in limited quantities & some are down-right rare. Some Promo Cards were made for planned sets that were then later canceled. These factors have helped launch an entirely new genre of collectors in the trading card market.
