1976 GMC Sierra 1500

Description: Good older modified restoration of an original short wheelbase (short bed Fleetside) 1976 GMC . Originally a 250” 6-cylinder/3 speed manual truck per SPID (see photo), it was upgraded with a mildly built TKY-coded 4 bolt main 350” engine out of a 1970’s heavy duty truck backed by a 4sp automatic/OD transmission. Power steering and an aftermarket tilt steering column with automatic shifter have been added. Unassisted original disc/drum brake system. Aftermarket Moon gauges have been fitted, including speedometer, tachometer, coolant temp, oil pressure, voltmeter and fuel gauge. Wipers do not operate and arm/blade assemblies have been removed. Odometer reads 567 and it is operational, but does not represent total mileage on vehicle. Wheels are 15x8 polished American Racing Torq Thrust II’s with 255 and 275/60/15 BFG Radial TA’s front and rear with minor wear, no visible checking and 2001 production codes. Truck was Ziebart-style rustproofed when new and has minor rust bubbling evident on the sides of the rocker panels and the passenger side rear cab corner. There is also superficial rust on top of the rockers under the weatherstripping where feet get dragged (see photos). Older Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette player with 6x9’s behind seat, just they way everybody used to:). Overall a nice truck to enjoy as is, or could be a great basis for some more upgrades. I am selling for my client who inherited it from her father, who treated it like his baby for a number of years. She would love to find someone to be its next caretaker.
