Work on the 220,000 square-foot facility began last July, and when it's completed about August 1977, it will bring the number of Sears stores in the area to five. It will replace the Gentilly Sears that has been closed, according to Sears officials. Gervais Favrot Company Incorporated of New Orleans is building the store, which will feature a 34,000 square-foot automotive center cafeteria and a full line of merchandise.
