Economics caused the company to cease passenger operations in 1975; freight service was then continued, but it was ended in the 1980s, with the last ship sold in 1986. The MS Kungsholm, the third ship to bear this name, was built in 1966 and used originally as an ocean liner between Gothenburg, Sweden and New York City. When Swedish American ceased passenger operations, the ship was sold to P&O Cruises, which originally based the vessel in Australia. It went through a number of ownership transfers and name changes in subsequent years and is now a floating hotel in the Arab nation of Oman. For auction is a menu from the MS Kungsholm, dated July 17, 1973. It is for dinner on a North Cape cruise. The meal hors d'oeuvres, soup, fish, lamb, deer, partridge, rib eye steak, cold salads, vegetables, potatoes, salad and dressing, dessert, ice cream, cheese and fruit. The rendering on the front cover is the Raadhuspladsen (city hall square) in Copenhagen, Denmark. This menu measures appx 11x8 inches closed and opens to appx 16x11 inches. It is printed on medium-weight semi-glossy cardstock. It is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears, no writing or markings. There is some minor staining on the front cover (see first image). A great addition to the collection of any cruise line menu fan. Pictures sell! Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.300+ Listing Templates! Auctiva gets you noticed!
