Description: This program is in very good condition, with the only flaw being a minor crease on the back left corner of the cover. Otherwise, it looks as if it was just purchased. The lineup is also included but shows wear on the right-hand side where it wasn't nested. The ticket stub is in excellent condition with no creasing and two nice corners. There is also a copy of the rundown for this race. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program and ticket stub. The 1972 Daytona 500 was run at Daytona International Speedway on February 20th before 98,600 fans. The field of forty was led to the green by the #71 K&K Insurance Dodge of Bobby Isaac. AJ Foyt and the Wood Brothers #21 Mercury dominated the race leading the last 300 miles and won by almost two laps over Charlie Glotzbach. Rounding out the top five were Jim Vandiver, Benny Parsons, and James Hyton. This win further cemented Foyt's status as one of the greatest, having also won the Indy 500 three times (as of this race) and LeMans. Speedweeks was marred by the death of Friday Hassler in one of Thursday's qualifying races. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
