On the 1971-76 Full size GM 'scissor top' cars each side rail is attached to the main mounting bracket in the back with a special bolt and a pair of steel bushings, the entire frame pivots on this bolt and bushings. Quite often the bolt or bushings can wear and cause the top to be loose or even bind up when opening or closing, in some cases if the frame has been worked on this special bolt may have been replaced with a plain bolt which can cause all kinds of problems.
