Description: Brand New/Mint. SIGNED _ Image size is 5.5" on the longest side and the paper size is 6" x 6". Jane Birkin OBE is an English actress and singer based in France. Here she sits with Serge Gainsbourg, her husband at the time, in their Paris flat. 1970. I was given a magazine assignment to photograph Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. Knowing that singers and actors can occasionally be difficult, I anticipated problems. In fact, this was not at all the case. They were warm, friendly and generally terrific. I spent the whole day with them, and they were totally relaxed, obviously in a great relationship. They attempted in no way to direct or influence what I was shooting, which made my life very easy.? These beautifully printed 6" x 6" archival prints were sold by Magnum for only 4 or 5 days in the Summer of 2016. The prints were issued in an un-numbered Limited Edition (limited to the number of prints purchased during the days in which the sale was open to the public). They were then carefully printed to the highest standards and signed by the photographers. As such, these are sure to become highly collectible photographs given the provenance linking them directly to the Magnum collective and each of the photographers who chose to participate in the event.
