Description: I purchased this truck section as part of a much larger collection. The first thing that I considered was to attach it to a complete 64 turning it into a tandem tanker. After some thought I realized that this was too difficult a task. At this point I decided to restore the tank section and sell it with the hope that a customer has or can come up with a cab. The first thing I did was to get the rear lights working. One of the pictures shows them. I added some wire so that the wires from the rear could go through the hose and reach the switch in a missing cab. Several pictures show three wires now just sticking out of the hose section. With more wire added all three of these can reach the switch. I got the rear lights to work by hooking up the blue and white(ground) wires to a direct low voltage DC power source. Without a switch there was no reason to install a battery.. While working on the lights I had to install a reproduction battery door as well as put a new section of plastic underneath the bottom front section of the tank.. I then custom built a locking mechanism to secure the battery door. This part does swivel. On the top of the tank I added a missing tank plug and installed a custom made hose nozzle holder. Near the plug there was a small hole that once held the original holder. I covered this with a strip of thin plastic. See the picture. Finally, I cleaned the plastic and applied all new decals. The four postage stamp decals are not perfect but they are better than nothing. There is no rear bumper but I do sell reproductions if you are interested.
