Description: NOTE! SELLER IS UNABLE TO UPDATE ANY DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS OR REQUEST A "HOLD" ON A PACKAGE ONCE IT HAS BEEN SHIPPED, REGARDLESS OF SHIPPING SERVICE. Thank you. This is a mid 1960s era Framus arch back classical guitar Model 5/13 The guitar is in overall pristine condition. The original tuners were broken so I replaced them with a similar style new set. I will include the original tuners in the package, see photo. (Two of the knob posts had come apart from the mounting plate. My local luthier said they are repairable, but not worth the effort. ) There is a hairline separation in the back of the headstock, see last photo The guitar stays in tune and plays very nicely. I think these well crafted German instruments are very under-rated for what they are. Intonation at 12th fret is good. The guitar is very comfortable to play. The small parlour style body with the arched back gives a lot of great tone. The original faux alligator case is included. Note the label inside the case, Dana Morgan Music Shop, Palo Alto, California. This is the very store where Jerry Garcia worked in the mid 60's as a young 20 year old and taught guitar lessons. It is also where he and Bob Weir formed their early band The Warlocks, before becoming the Greatful Dead. It is likely this guitar was purchased in this shop during that very time. We will never know if any of these guys played this particular guitar, but it was undoubtedly purchased there. The case is in good though lightly worn condition. Overall, this is a unique guitar with a history we will never know, but we can be reasonably sure we know where it was purchased and when. Measures: 38.5" long Lower bout: 13.5" Upper bout: 10"
