1960s BELGIUM Coat of Arms QUAKER Cereal Canada CARD Transfer DECALCOMANIA

Description: This scarce card is one in a series of 19 transfers issued in Canada by the QUAKER OATS COMPANY of Canada Limited. One was inserted into each package of their CEREAL. I have not been able to find this series listed in any guide that I am aware of, nor have I been able to find a definitive date of issue. However I speculate that is was more than likely some time in the 1960’s era. The front of each card features a different crest from a different country. The back gives a brief description on how to use the transfer and indicates that they were made by the Canada Decalcomania Co. Ltd. . It also features writing in both English and French. This card features the crest of BELGIUM The Card measures 2 1/2 inches by 3 inches approximately. Because these cards are in fact decals not many have probably survived. Like stickers these were probably stuck down or transferred by the kids and destroyed. They are tough to come by. The card does have some areas of discoloration and creasing. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.
