Description: Set of nine Detroit Tigers from the 1957 season. many of them have a stain on the front of the card possibly from some water damage in the past, I don't know. The cards themselves show no weakening or typical damage from water but I don't know what else might have caused the stains. Anyway, here are the cards: Frank Lary #393--The Tiger's ace pitcher has a stain that starts in the upper right border, goes through the y in his name and stops in the portrait. There is a bend in the left corner that starts on the left border then goes up to the upper border. There is a small line of some sort to the left to the Tiger logo. Too bad because the card is centered nicely, has no paper tears or pen or pencil marks. Back is okay though the bottom border looks a little dirty. Pete Burnside #354 Light stain on this one that starts in the top center, goes through the U in his name, then disappears before it gets to the portrait. Corners show signs of wear. No creases or pen and pencil marks but there is an obvious smudge of some sort on the right-side border. There is also what looks like a printing bubble flaw next to the e in his last name. Back has minor paper damage in the lower left corner. Herm Wehmeier #421-Sharp corners all the way around and no signs of creases or pen/pencil marks. However, there is a light stain that goes from the top right corner of the card through the ei of his name then disappears in the red. Portrait is good. On back there is tiny paper damage on lower border right where it says Major. Jerry Davie #256--Decent corners and no creases or pen/pencil marks. However, this time the stain starts just above the i in his last name and goes down through the portrait before disappearing in the red at the bottom. The back is unremarkable. Larry Osborne #524 Rare high numbered card from the 1959 series. Good corners and no creases, pen or pencil marks. However, this has a stain that starts in the upper right border above the E in his name, goes down through the portrait, almost disappears only to reemerge in the lower left and into the Tigers logo and off the card on the far left. The reverse side has a small stain in the upper left-hand corner. Frank Bolling #280--Really well centered card but it also has one of those stains. This one goes from the upper border then cuts south to go between the i and n of his name, then into the border. Diagonal crease in the lower left-hand corner. Small vertical spider vein type creases in upper right-hand corner. The back side looks good. Gus Zernial #409--Nice looking card with good corners, no creases, no pencil marks and I thought no stains. Then I took a closer look and found there is indeed a light stain That starts just above the L in his name, goes down and then stops at the portrait. You gotta look for it, but it's there. In fact, just found a very small diagonal crease in the lower right corner as well. Back looks great. Ossie Alvarez #504--Stain starts just above the ar, then swings left through his last name, then down into the portrait before disappearing into his cap. Right edge shows some signs of wear. Lower left corner is rounded, others not so much. Back has paper damage on the bottom border, which corresponds to the wear seen on the front edge of the card. Ray Narleski #442 The former Cleveland reliever's card has a stain that starts in the left side of the upper border this time, goes down between the r and the a of his first name, into the border and finally disappears somewhere around his neck. Looks like some damage in the lower right border, No creases or pen/pencil marks. Back has paper damage in left border and in lower border.
