Description: 1959 Topps #486 Sammy White Boston Red Sox PSA 7 NM NEAR-MINT This is a high-end PSA 7 Sammy White Card with nice corners, straight edges, and centering measuring 40/60 (top Bottom) in a clean, clear slab. White played eleven years in the majors after signing with the Red Sox in ‘49 as a right handed hitting catcher. He played nine of the eleven years he played in the majors with the Red Sox. He was elected an All Star in ‘53, hitting .273 for the year with 13 Home runs. He was also a fine defensive catcher, often leading the league in assist, double plays started, and catching runners stealing. He finished with a lifetime batting mark of .262, after being released by the Phillies in ‘62.
