With 140 foot masts to carry the aerial, the telecasting station is located on the right bank of the Tigris River, hence was handy for on the spot coverage of recent flood control operations. The station, built by the British firm of Pye, of Cambridge, is devoted to educational, cultural, and social welfare programs. Iraqi engineers and technicians were trained by the British company.
