The painting on canvas board is in excellent vintage condition, original rustic wood frame is a bit distressed. Overall the painting measures 19 3/4" x 16", and sight measures 15 1/2" x 11 3/4". Please see pictures and ask any questions. Parker Gamage (1882-1960) A New Harbor, Maine resident for most of his life, Gamage was a student of Charles Woodbury. His known paintings are Impressionist in nature and include the scenery of New Harbor, Monhegan, and Pemaquid Point on the Maine Coast. His works are in a number of private, university and museum collections. Only 60 miles north of Portland on the Pemaquid Peninsula, New Harbor is one of the last working harbors remaining along the mid-coast. The harbor and surrounding area are steeped in the rich history of fishing, lobstering and boat building. The peninsula is mostly residential with large tracks of undeveloped land. You won’t find tee shirt shops or the hub-bub of most tourist destinations. Things here are simple, peaceful, relaxed and move at a comfortable pace. This is what sets New Harbor apart and attracts most of our visitors.
