Description: For sale is a mega-rare coin set you don't find very often: a 1953 Double Mint set in its original Mint packaging. Mint sets began being sold in 1947 so this is just the 6th year Mint sets were even released. They only produced 15,538 total sets, which is an incredibly tiny number. Then when you consider how many were dismantled over the years for being to sell the coins individually or to get them graded you realize that only a fraction of them are left in the original Mint Packaging. The Double Mint Set includes twice as many coins as you would get in a regular Mint set--giving you coins from all three Mints (P, D, & S). This gives you three of each of the denomination coins, for a total of 30 uncirculated coins--18 of them being 90% silver! What's best is the set even comes in its original mailing envelope mailed from the Mint which even has the old vintage postage stamp on it!Each and every one of these coins are in MS uncirculated grades. Many of them have lots of their original Mint luster to them. They all will have that blotchy bluish toning that is very normal and actually expected for coins that come from these early Mint Sets. The packaging itself is what caused this toning. In fact, these none of these coins had this toning then that means the coins did not come from the OGP, and someone placed in them there after the fact. This toning is what ensures they were in this OGP.This is an incredibly rare coins set that would be top shelf for any coin collection. Thanks!
