Description: 21st Century Music & CollectiblesTHE DESCRIPTION Original vintage undated circa late 1950s issue of "Swing News" issued by The Westlake College out of Hollywood, California. The issue contains 12 pages (including front and back covers) with articles reporting on Steve Allen receiving the "Man of the Year in Modern Music" award, the Westlake College Quintet on Decca Records, Count Basie, Julie London and more. Allen's award id for the year 1957. Another article reports on Count Basie winning an award for Best Band of 1956 and Jack Wagner of KHJ out of Los Angeles winning an award for the best radio program of 1956. Although the publication is undated, these articles point to the likelihood that it originates from the late 1950s; most probably 1957. The vintage publication measures 8.5 x 11 inches and is in very good + condition; free of any folds or paper tears with minor surface crease wear.
