Description: Travel back in time with this cool old ukulele. Made by the late, great Vega Company in Boston, Massachusetts, sometime in the 1950s, I believe. It's branded as an Arthur Godfrey baritone uke. The body, top, and neck look like mahogany to me. It's in good vintage condition, with some ordinary cosmetic age and play wear. The strings are old, but it sounds plenty good. It could use some repair though. The neck heel is lifted slightly. There are a pair of well repaired side cracks on the bass side of the neck heel. It does play as is. 12th fret action is 4/32". It's a cool old All-American instrument that deserves some TLC to give it another 70 years of service. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a stout cardboard instrument box. Please check out our eBay store, Time Travel Music, for more cool vintage stuff, including a bunch of vintage guitars (and a few ukuleles, banjos, fiddles, mandolins and amps, as well as fiddles, brass, woodwind, and various oddball musical instruments and old instrument brochures & catalogs). And please check out our YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/toadstoolshadow, to hear some of our original music.
