Description: 1949 JCM 4 (JCM-4) 'All Japan / S.F. Seals' Japanese Baseball Menko Card Cornelius 'Con' Dempsey Pitcher San Francisco Seals P.C.L. These Baseball Menko Cards were made in 1949. This set is Catalogued as JCM 4 in the Japanese Baseball Card Catalog. Half of the players known in this set are from the San Francisco Seals of the PCL, the other half are All Star Japanese players. These Cards are Scarce overall. Cornelius 'Con' Dempsey San Francisco born Dempsey played in the MLB with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1951. He playing basketball and baseball at USF, With the outbreak of WWII, he joined the US Navy, serving in the Pacific and European theaters; he was awarded four medals for bravery.in his Rookie season with San Francisco he led league in strikeouts and ERA.
