Description: For sale is an incredible 1943 Type 1 of General George Patton. In this outstanding photo we see Patton decorating a US soldier during WW2. This renowned four star general was pinning a Silver Star on Major Leon Gorsline who was the unit Chaplain. Gorsline had entered areas abandoned by US Troops and destroying equipment under heavy enemy fire. This was in the Battle of Sidi Bou Zid, Tunisia (North Africa) during Operation Spring Breeze. What also makes this photo incredible is the fact that he is wearing his ivory handle Colt .45 which he was known by even his enemies to wear on his hip. He had wore that gun through both World Wars. He was known for being a pistoleer with his Colt and now resides in West point. He was known for leading the United States Tank Corps in WWI to leading the 3rd army in Operation Overlord and the Battle of the Bulge. This photo was taken April 3rd 1943 and is Credited to "Underwood & Underwood". This photo measures 6 x 8 inches and is in Excellent Condition.
