Description: "FRENCH CASINO THEATRE RESTAURANT" ORIGINAL SOUVENIR PROGRAM - Circa 1936. 8" x 10", 24 pages. 2-color cover with b&w content. This quality souvenir program was for the Cabaret theater in New York City called the FRENCH CASINO THEATRE RESTAURANT. In December 1934, the refurbished Earl Carroll Theatre opened as the FRENCH CASINO. For a short period in the 1930's, it became the unrivalled premier nightspot in New York. The chic nightclub offered dinner and a spectacular Broadway cabaret show. This souvenir program featured the 1936 "Folies D'Amour" with popular singer/dancer/comedienne Cinda Glenn, a host of specialty acts, and (of course) "the most beautiful girls". Included are credits & loads of photos (some quite exotic) from the production. A well-designed theater reference. ALSO INCLUDED is a napkin from the long gone HOTEL ASTOR, a NYC landmark for a number of years. It was found inside the program. YOU ARE BUYING BOTH FOR ONE MONEY. Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Mild surface creasing with no tears or spine separation. Complete. Overall, we feel these items are in very displayable and serviceable condition by most standards (see photos).
