(see photo)pp. 361 plus Chonoligical Table of Contents. Dimensions: 8" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"Last page of the Chronology is missing a piece of the page in the right hande corner.In the book, Robert David identifies "Sam Clover, a Chicago Herald Correspondent" as one of the particpants to the events that took place. (see photo, p.238) Many of the comments througout the book written by Sam Clover state that some of the statements "Malcolm Campbell Sheriff" were taken from his book and/or incorrect. Samuel T. Clover was a well known author, editor and publisher in Chicago and Los Angeles in the later 19th and early 20th centuries. Clover was a reporter sent out by Chicago Herald newspaper to cover the Johnson County War. “E. Lindsley” in the bookplate was Elmer Lindsley was a Captain in the Fourth Cavalry stationed at Yellowstone National Park during the 1890’s. The Army managed Yellowstone until the creation of the National Park Service in 1916. Captain Lindsley was charged under the direction of the Acting Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park “…with the duties of instructing the outposts and detachments in the work of protection, with regulating the movements of scouts, and making frequent inspections of all detached outposts, the manner in which patrol and scouting duty is performed—in brief, he is charged with the main duty of protecting the fish, game, and fur-bearing animals against poachers.” Annual Report Yellowstone National Park 1897, Fish & Game pp. 27. Lindsley produced a special report entitled Report on Fishing and Game. Id. at 25. This book is for the the great historian's of the the times involving early Wyoming and the Western United States in the late 19th century All three people involved in this book were there!!!.
