Description: This vintage clock from Germany is a unique find for any collector. The clock features a playful Scottie dog design with rolling eyes and a foil label. It was made in the 1930s and still works well. The clock is perfect for any desk, mantel, or shelf. The brand is Oswald, a well-known clockmaker. The clock is a great addition to any collection and a wonderful conversation piece. MEASURES 4-3/4” WIDE BY 6-1/4” HIGH CLOCK HAS 1 DAY (24 HOUR) MECHANICAL MOVEMENT AND IN WORKING CONDITION THE EYES ROTATE TO INDICATE TIME OF DAY. BOTH EYES ROLL AS INTENDED. CLOCK TICKS AND RUNS WELL AS INTENDED, I RECENTLY TURNED REAR SPRING KNOB 3 FULL TURNS & CLOCK RAN FOR FULL 12 HOURS. I HAVE NEVER WOUND COMPLETELY TO PREVENT OVER-WINDING AND CREATING A PROBLEM. I HAVE OWNED CLOCK FOR 40 YEARS AND USED MOSTLY FOR DISPLAY & CONVERSATION IT IS SIGNED “GERMANY “ & STILL HAS ORIGINAL OSWALD FOIL LABEL ON BOTTOM. ALSO ON THE BOTTOM IS GERMAN LETTERING THAT I CAN NOT TRANSLATE. THE BACK HAS METAL COVER OVER THE WORKS AND IS FREE OF SCRATCHES THAT HAPPEN WHEN COVER IS REMOVED. IT APPEARS THAT CLOCK HAS NEVER BEEN DAMAGED, REPAIRED OR TINKERED WITH. CLOCK IS COMPLETE, NEEDS NOTHING. THERE ARE MINOR CHIPS TO THE RESIN BODY BUT NO SERIOUS DISTRACTIONS OR ISSUES. MADE TO APPEAR AS WOOD BUT ACTUALLY MADE OF SOME TYPE OF RESIN COMPOSITION. OSWALD WAS LOCATED IN THE BLACK FOREST AREA OF GERMANY AND WELL KNOWN FOR THEIR QUALITY NOVELTY CLOCKS.
