Description: Fresh estate find Open to offers and basing price on other one listed Here is one of the "holy grail" type items of Marx train collecting. Most Marx collectors know that the first Marx trains were actually Joyline trains put out by the Girard Manufacturing Company in Girard, PA, and that Louis Marx ended up buying that company during the depression and making that Marx factory #1. Anyway, Girard's Joyline was known for mainly windup trains, but they did make a few AC powered electric trains meant to run on 3 rail O gauge track. Finding ANY Girard transformer is tough, but the one all the collectors truly want is the extremely rare "Joyline Power House". Lithographed to look like one of the electric power-generating buildings that the utilities used to power the electric grid, the beautifully lithographed red, yellow and black structure was both decorative and functional. Few survive to this day. This one is in fantastic shape, with expected wear and beautiful vibrant colors, It does have a power unit inside, but I have not taken apart to view. There is also an aftermarket cord, my assumption is it may work. However unit is untested. Will be sold As Is. This item is very rare, If you need one for your collection now is your chance. The photos tell the story, with shots of all 6 sides of the unit, plus some closeups to show the lettering and the internals. The unit measures approximately 6 inches by 4 1/4 inches at the black base, and is about 3 3/8 inches tall. Would look fantastic on your Marx layout or in your Marx and/or Joyline collection!
